ABOUT

I like figuring out what’s really going on inside of complicated materials, and then finding a clear way to communicate what I’ve found.

I studied English literature at UC Berkeley and Columbia. The work taught me how to establish what’s known about a question, read what other people have argued, and weigh it honestly — looking closely at the primary material to notice what other people might have missed, and then developing a claim that the evidence will actually carry.

I’ve practiced this process outside of my seminars in my roles as a teaching assistant, research assistant, and as a legal assistant at a small plaintiff’s firm. The contexts were different but the work was often similar: finding the relevant material, seeing how the pieces connect, and communicating what follows.

I’m now looking for opportunities in publishing, communications, or related fields where I can put these skills to good use, and continue learning from people who care about writing and telling stories well.
